I don’t think the year 2020 was what we all hoped for… Going through a global pandemic wasn’t fun at all.
Let’s face it, for the most part 2020 was a bad year. But today a new year starts and I think it brings hope with it!
2021: Phoenix
2020: Citius, Altius, Fortius
The most interesting fact about the Olympic Games is that, despite all the controversies surrounding them, they manage to involve 10.500 athletes from 204 nations (Summer Olympic Games, London 2012).
2019: Carpe Diem
That means “Live the present!”, right? Well, yes and no. Horace used the word “carpe” with the meaning “enjoy”, “seize”, “use”, “make use of”. You can put any of those words in front of “day” and you will get the point. Read more
2018: Sapere Aude
“Sapere aude” is a Latin phrase that can be translated as “Dare to know” or “Dare to think for yourself”.
Given the speed in our daily lives, “sapere aude”, the urge to stop for a while and analyse the things and events around us, seems like a good advice for 2018.
2017: Make it matter.
A while ago I saw a simple banner: On a white background there was the logo of the company and a concise message: “Make it matter.”
